National Apprenticeship Week

The UK Shipbuilding Skills Taskforce was hosted by UKNEST member Cammell Laird in Birkenhead for their latest meeting, which coincided with the start of National Apprenticeship week.  The Taskforce was joined by the Secretary of State for Defence and Shipbuilding Tsar, Rt Hon Ben Wallace MP, and Secretary of Sate for Education, Rt Hon Gillian Keegan MP, who, following a tour of the yard, discussed some of the emerging findings from their work to secure the necessary skills to sustain the 30 shipbuilding pipeline.
